I have traktor scrath pro set up with an audio 4 dj(online upgraded it) and my cdjs with timecodes are skipping like crazy.
My setup= 2 NDX 800 CDJS + M6 4 channel mixer
when calibrating the timecodes both of the circles for cds are slanted to the left and the right deck (b) has a different pattern for circles. Everything is screwed up, please somebody help!!!
It has never worked, and this is all done in traktor scratch pro (1), i would have specified if it was tsp 2, sorry if i wasnt clear. you can use the decks (ndx800)as midi controllers but i do not want to use them as controllers because of the excess of usb cords involved. I just wanna use time codes, hopefully there is a way to clarify the issue involved…
My cd decks wernt outputting a clean enough timecode signal and it was skipping everywhere.
this solved the issue for me:
Copy the traktor timecodes to your PC. Track 2 is the main timecode you need
Convert the track to an MP3 (i used Audacity)
Burn the MP3’s to a CD as an MP3 cd.
reboot everything and try with the new MP3 timecodes. (dont forget to calibrate the CD everytime you boot traktor. I sometimes have to calibrate a few times before its recognising a clean CD signal)
I did do a reinstall when i was debugging but it was the MP3 trick that finally solved my issues.
From what i understand Traktor 2 is a completely different application than the original so the route used to obtain the program shouldnt be an issue (but i could be wrong. im new to Traktor completely, only started using 2 weeks ago wiv TSP2)
At this point i can only suggest the usual things, latency checks, disable master tempo, disable keylock. Try differant USB port for the sound card. Change cables.
might be worth trying some differant cables. I had a dead RCA that came with my TSP2 which was a bit dissapointing.
*Download the 0.0.2 timecode from the NI Service Center and burn the .wav tracks directly as audio CDs (with a 0 second gap in between tracks of course).
This updated version fixes skipping issues on some CD decks.
*Make sure key lock is OFF on your decks. Further, if your decks have any effects built-in, make sure they are OFF.
yeah tried doing that with wav and mp3 decks, 0 gap in between(reads as unknown medium). cant find it on native instruments support center so i got it via google. il check key lock/how to turn it off and try running it while effects are off, where is it located on NI, all they had was tsp 1.27 update under downloads
