Mapping Help. TP2…

Hey every body, right, well i’ve finally decided to venture in to the mapping world for the first time with my OWN mapping, but i need some help, as i’m a complete mapping n00b.

Basically, my set up is such, 2 x kontrol x1’s and a DJM 800, i use the x1’s as 4 decks in Traktor Pro, but more recently TP2.

the mapping i’m looking to create is below
Left x1 to control decks A&B as normal, but the right x1 to control Deck C as normal, but deck d will be sample decks.

surely it can’t be that hard to map?
for the controls of Deck D, I want the pots on the x1 to control volume and press shift and adjust the pot to control the filter for each sample slot?

the buttons, ON, 1, 2 , 3 i want these to work at the PLAY/STOP buttons.

Anyone offer me some assistance in the mapping of this?

Hey man. If you want some help Id be happy to help. You’ll be blown away by how simple it is to do what you want. Read up on the stickies and just have a go.

Thanks man, i’ve read over the stickies, and it’s still a bit daunting to be honest! :disappointed:

I guess i’ll have to do more study tonight, and get stuck in to the mapping tomorrow! :disappointed:

Make sure you save often, and keep a backup of the original mappings you have now.

There is nothing worse than making a mistake and not being able to fix it without breaking more stuff.

read my book its in my sig nearly 1000 downloads

Bah, it’s not so hard.

Start by deleting all Deck D functions, and ONLY deck D ones.

you’ll have to remap the shift button, that’s a Modifier. so map that first. and make sure you make it a HOLD button. you can check that your modifiers are doing what you want them to at the top of the mapping window.

Now get mapping.

for buttons, pick the function that sounds like the one you’re trying to control. Hit learn. Press the button. Turn learn off. Set it to the deck you want it to work with. Set the controller type, Check that it worked, if not it’s try a different controller type, if
it did work do it all over again. Remember to set Modifier Condition to 0 (zero) if you want something to happen when you not pressing the shift button, and not when you are.

If the function is the same bit for a different deck, press duplicate,
and then all you have to do is “learn” that button.

The knobs might be a little trickier. but it’s basically the same. Trial and error…

Good luck. Don’t give up. and like Steve said… Save lots! (that’s done via the export button down the bottom of the setting window)

Cheers guys!

I’ve basically got the mapping in my head…so i know what way i want it to work, kinda, so i guess i’ll just have to knuckle down and just get it done!
