Maybe its just me, but does anybody call what they play deep progressive house?

I’m going to try that again:

:smiley::thumbsup::smiley::thumbsup:

No waiiiii?!

Just posted for the hell of it. That was the first tune I can remember being described as “progressive trance.” Brings me a back!

As for today’s “progressive house”…huge fan of anything Anjuna.

Anjuna is a great label

pretty much agree. that track NEEDS to be played loud as hell in a big room with good bass or it isn’t done justice.

would also put underworld dark and long up there.

this is what I say to everyone except house djs :stuck_out_tongue: house djs themselves usually want a bit more specificity.

Quality thread, I didn’t see this before I posted. Quality Tunes all round.

Loverocket has posted 2 excellent tunes.

Sorry, but I can’t say the same for the others. Most of them have some of those horrible cheesy synths in the breakdowns.

If you can track this compilation down you will listen to it forever more.

*edit: Sam Mollisons’ - Cry is a sure fire winner for me and I’ve tried to track down that version for years.

This is EXACTLY the music and genre that i’m in to. I generally just say its progressive. It definitely isnt just trance and i’d even go as far as saying its not progressive trance either (i’d generally label the anjunabeats stuff progressive trance). The Anjunadeep label encompasses this style and the Jaytech podcast is bang on the money also.

A few other names i’d add to your list would be Roddy Reynaert, Kobane & Yane3dots, mindset, Ben Coda, Levente Marton, Answer 42, Soundprank and Andrew Bayer.

IMO this is some of the best music around at this moment in time!

Oh absolutely! I also like Dave Shtorn, Kazusa, Zach Roth, 16 bit lolitas, solarity.

Damn right!! This definitely!! The original Renaissance mix collections (1-4) are superb. Big

+1 on 16 bit lolitas! i really dig most of their stuff.

16 bit lolitas are probably the most reliable prog producers I know of. Other producers come and go, peak and decline, but these guys I’ve been listening to since…2003, ever since I first started listening to house music. And they still put out some really good shit.

i made it my mission back in the day to get as many renaissance mixes i could. i was never able to get that specific dave seaman one but i think my buddy had it. my favorite out of the ones i own is probably the deep dish masters series. classic stuff right there.

e.g.

Exactly!

woooo

hahaha yes!!! check out andrew bayer and Anujadeep records on beatport

I like this.

I really like some Anjunadeep releases. Sadly, they are very few and in-between giant piles of cheesy crap. I actually unfollowed them on Beatport because the nice ones were too rare.
