Mdi Fighter Setup Help Please.
Thanks DJTT and ZACh,
Picked up my 2 midi Fighters today.
Awesome.
Now I’ve been through just about every setting I can think of, But only get one to work smoothly.
When I use the buttons on the second on the lights on the first one lights up
In Device mode I have:
MF_FX 4 Banks - Generic Midi (MidiFighter-MidiFighter)
In-Port = MidiFighter
Out-Port = MidiFighter
Device Target = Deck A
MF_FX 4 Banks - Generic Midi (MidiFighter #2-MidiFighter#2)
In-Port = MidiFighter#2
Out-Port = MidiFighter#2
Device Target = Deck B
2 more but I assume that will be for decks C & D.
Would This be the correct setup?
Should I do anything Else apart from that.
Effects are set 4 FX Units
Restore parameters when switching FX = Ticked
S4 not Connected at this stage.
I’m not on my mac book. I’m on my desktop using Windows 7.
Please advise me on where I’m being stupid. Clearly I’m to blame here.
Many Thanks
i think the reason the lights are showing up on the other fighter is because the effects are in use on a deck.. it is nothing to worry and i think happens due to having miltuple midifighters running the same mappings to different decks.
Hope this made some sense
Hi Jamthrax,
Yes that makes sense in a way, but the second one has no effect on the deck B.
I want to use both midi Fighters with the IG mapping.
I have the S4 for all the other stuff.
I made that clear as I ordered everything from DJTT.
Thanks anyway.
For instant gratification mappings, you need to have the midi-fighter in 4-banks mode where the top row becomes bank buttons. read the instructions carefully on the mapping’s thread. You only need 1 midi-fighter to run all 4 decks (4-banks) in IG. Try getting one working in that config first then you can start messing with deckalizing your IG and midifighters
What they said. Only 1 midifighter is needed for the IG mapping, but if you want to use both they will both need to have 4 banks internal mode activated (then you choose your deck with the top 4 buttons.
Read the ‘using the midifighter in menu mode’ (How To Use the Midifighter Menu Mode (Classic & Pro only)) thread for instructions on how to do this.
btw, I run 2 midi-fighters and one does the IG mapping and the other has a custom mapping I’m getting ready to share with everyone that I call the Juggler.
The reason why I don’t run 2 midi-fighters with IG is because the IG mapping takes over the effects banks and, for example, when you activate an effect in fx bank1 in traktor on deck A it deactivates fx bank1 on all the other tracks to prevent unintentional fx on other running decks. If you load up the mixer view with 4 decks and start poking stuff in the IG mapping on the midi-fighter, you will see how the fx banks activate and deactivate between tracks.
So, I find, for me, its best to dedicate one midi-fighter to run the effects with the IG and use the other to run hotcues and other “non-fx” macros.
I’ll post my juggler mapping w/ video when I’m done with it (probably next week) and drop a link in here so you can check out what I’ve got going on
