Midi keyboard
Any recommendations on a pretty basic (small) midi keyboard in a reasonable price range? Doesn’t really have to have a lot of knobs etc..I’m using logic if that makes a difference but I’m looking for a more keyboard based thing not something with a lot of midi control buttons necessarily
How many keys? Does it have to be full size? What’s your budget?
Also, do you have any formal training on the keys or are you going ot be using it to just sketch out ideas?
I have some formal training but to be honest I plan on using it just to sketch out ideas, after I find a nice loop I’ll probably re-write it into the piano roll. I just thought it could help with sketching ideas quickly so I don’t want to spend a lot on it, maybe 100-150 as a budget (not sure how reasonable that is). And for size maybe 1/3 the size of a regular keyboard, I’m not sure how many keys…
I know I’m being vague but thanks for any help mate, or if you can point me to any links I can check them out
Check out the MPK Mine by Akai, sounds like it might be perfect for what you need.
M-Audio KeyRig 49 4 oct. under 200$. if you don’t have any knobs i think you should get some its very useful for tweaking and testing your sounds.
for some knobs look in Akai’s keyboard i think the MPK or the Oxygen are the best
I use the Alesis Q25 and it’s fab for production. Has buttons to easily go up/down octaves and pitch bends. For me, it’s a perfect and cheap MIDI keyboard for production.
