Midifighter 3D change LED colors via Midipipe

Hi there,

I got my new Midifighter 3D yesterday. I want to use it as a controller for video livestreams via Applescript and Midipipe.

After some trouble connecting the Midifighter to my Mac, I had a look in

However this seems strange to me: Midipipe get’s MIDI signals from the Midifighter, but the notes are different from the ones in the documentation.

Also I wanted to change the LED colors via Applescript and Midipipe. The documentation says:
“Sending a Note On message of the same pitch (note) as a given arcade button will overide the default
inactive/active color state of the buttons illumination.
The velocity of this Note On is used to set the color or animation for that buttons LED.”

This is followed by some MIDI codes. But when I send data to the Midifighter colors don’t change as expected and documented. I can’t activate the color animation for example.

Any idea why the MIDI codes in the documentation don’t seem right? How can I turn on the animated effects?

Thanks
Seb

That’s because that document is for the legacy firmware. You can find everything you need Midi Fighter 3D User Guide

It’s worth noting that the 0 and 127 values match the ones set via the MF Utility, you can use the rest of the velocity range to assign colors to your unit.

Yes! That worked. Thank you very much. :sunglasses:
