I recently acquired a pair of Audio Tech PL 120’s and would like to purchase a mixer. What I would like to be able to do is connect a loop pedal or pedals such as the Boss RC 1 to each turntable allowing me to loop and extend a section of a song on one turntable as I beat match and mix in the next song and vice versa. Much like the manual looping in Serato. Is this even possible and if so, would I need a 2 or 4 channel mixer? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
For the price of a decent sampler, you can pick up an interface and a laptop. What is your end goal? It will be cheaper to get a mixer with a built in interface and sampler (DJM line, A+H DB2+, etc.).
Thanks for responding. I’m just looking to keep it a pretty simple set up. Standard vinyl setup, 2 turntables and a mixer. I currently own a Boss RC 1 Loop pedal and I’m looking to integrate the loop pedal as well as a Boss Echo pedal into my setup with a mixer. End goal is to loop and extend a break or section of one song on one turntable via the loop pedal and then match up the next song on turntable 2 to the loop from turntable 1 to transition and vice versa. A poor mans Serato if you will. Not sure if it’s possible and what type of mixer (2 channel or 4 channel) would be needed.
It is definitely possible and can be handled by any mixer with a send receive. Is there anything specific you are looking for in the mixer (besides the send/return)?
Just a mixer that will allow me to do that. The simpler, the better. I’m not even sure how one would hook up this setup. (Suggestions?) Totally new to the whole thing. I just need to be able to play a song, loop a bar or break, let it play while I beat match the song from turntable 2 then transition. Then repeat same practice with turntable 2 to turntable 1.
