Mixers: Pioneer vs. A&H

Just a personal pain in the ass. Honestly, I don’t like the idea of taking out a controller w/o a sound card. It’s just my preference. Then again, I drink a lot when I go out. Any setup for me to use needs to be pretty straight forward. Two identical devices is asking for trouble (although a label maker would help).

As such, I don’t have an “out controller” but I’m on the fence on a few. The 2D looks nice but fuck me it’s expensive for what it is.

You say you want to use 2 channels for your cdj’s and 2 channels for traktor (samples or decks)

Then you only need 1 Audio 2

FWIW, the 92 is a bit of overkill for what I want. I think the 42 is what I’m going to go with. I plan on stacking the two Audio2s on top of eachother, maybe with some velcro or something. Won’t be much bigger than two iphones on top of eachother.

Hope running the new Audio2 with upgraded sound quality wont be an issue with the older model I have though.

Also, when using my X1 on decks C and D, does that mean I will have funcionality of their volume as well as Xone filters on them too?

How so? I use my CDJs in HID mode in Traktor to control decks A and B, and would like to use my X1 for decks C and D. I do believe I read about combining outputs in the new Traktor, but with the use of a 4 channel mixer, wouldn’t I need another Audio2? This is when playing all 4 decks in Traktor of course…

I believe you are correct though, if I were playing CDJs solely without Traktor and then another 2 decks with Traktor.

He means if you are playing regular CDs.

What do you mean by this?

Ahh my mistake - I should read things properly but I’m a a lazy moose

Well with a 4 channel mixer I was hoping to use my CDJs on decks A and B and my X1 on decks C and D. Using C and D as Sample Decks or just regular play decks like A and B.

I just wondered if the upfaders, effects (filter) and all other features on the Xone would work with all decks, not just A and B, even though C and D will be controlled by the X1.

whatever you plug into a channel will be controlled by its faders and EQs. Makes sense really!

True. The X1 is plugged into the PC though, so I wasn’t sure. CDJs into the mixer I understand, just making sure an external midi controller like the X1 would still be controlled EQ and volume wise through the mixer. That is what I am trying to accomplish…all four decks controlled with the mixer, mixing externally and with the X1.

So I guess it’s just a matter of selecting channels within Traktor then huh?

It’s all just audio being routed into a channel, the source of the audio doesn’t really matter.

epic  +1

Sounds good. Another A2 with the 42 it is!
