Music you're embarassed to like?

Music you’re embarassed to like?

Everybody has that music that they love, but would never admit to liking. I guess you could call it a “guilty pleasure”… but I hate that phrase. For some reason I picture a middle-aged mom secretly eating a box of chocolate in the closet. lol.

But anyway, I have a huge soft spot for cheese-ball eurodance music. If it weren’t for euro, I may not have ever gotten into EDM.

I know I’m not the only one that loves music they know they shouldn’t. Anyone else?

Confessions time!

There’s this one track that, if you were to ask me to my face, I would never admit to secretly loving.

ABBA, I absolutely love most part of their discography.

Wouldnt be ashamed to say i like ABBA, one of the best groups ever. Along with the Bee Gee’s, Queen, Fleetwood Mac etc.. Love them all! Music is music you shouldn’t be ashamed of it, embrace it!

but i love that song:

my musical collection is erm huge from country to classical to metal you name it no doubt have some of it, most evenings to fall asleep i listen to norah jones, seasick steve or classical, or maybe i will listen to snow patrol or even kt tunstall.

sometimes when i am listening i hear a rif or sample i would love to convert into a house track then realise i would probably be burned alive at the stake for doing so including sued to kingdom come lol

sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…

stayed with me since i was a kid, it comes up in my itunes shuffle every now and then and people are like wtf? it’s catchy

disco house.

see now Mika i don’t get lol m8

one of my all time best tunes!

This used to be a bit of a joke between me and my buddies, but I swear… although I hate it, it does get caught in my head a bit to easily.

Nah Mika in general I can’t stand either, it’s just that song for some reason

Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, has anyone really listened to the original FM, Had a guy named Peter Green, who could sing and Play his Guitar like nothing else.

Have a listen to a track titled "Oh well’ I imagine the signature guitar Riff in this track would sample well.

His Gibson Guitar was famous, It had a particular sound that others had trouble emulating, I read once that the pick up was either wired backwards or had a few less turns… Anyway, Peter took too many drugs and gave up Music, gave the Guitar to Gary Moore.

Anyway a little of Topic, so for my confession, I would say that i like most of Rianna’s songs ive heard.

Yikes…who would have thought? Sorry, but my girl “convinced me” to listen. heheee. Now I can’t listen to it with her without…um…well…ya know.

Sundays - Wild Horses

OK…when it comes down to it Im not ashamed or embarrassed of any music I love (this included). However…I usually dont rock this one when Im running with my THUG LIFE crew robb’n liquor stores (know what I mean playa?!) :sunglasses:

That aside…the song and her voice give me fucking shivers. I love the Sundays in general.

Oh and BTW Lambox, awesome fucking thread. I just about sharted myself at the mom and chocolate reference and hearing your track put me over the edge. (I feel you… as somebody who’s beginnings came from cheese ball LA Gabba House)

there is no shame in my ipod :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha man I’ve always been a fan of Cascada (which I guess also falls under my Euro catagory).

Haha thanks man. The kind of music that, when your listening to it in a public place, you turn the volume waaaayyyy down. lol. I wouldn’t say I’m ashamed to like any of the music that I do, but some of the music I wouldn’t mention if I was trying to show any kind of knowledge of “respectable” music. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad to see other people can put their “macho-ness” and egos aside and admit to these things.

I really like the song but no one understands me

I play Cascada on our radio show weekly. She’s still hittin’ in NYC.
