My Christmas present..

Hi guys,

I was very pleased on christmas morning to find my traktor kontrol s2 under the tree.. woooo!

sadly I am finding a few problems.. I hope you guys can help me. I bought it at htfr in Birmingham ( where I stay when I am in the UK) good shop nice guys very helpful. Thing is, I live in France so to get it fixed is hard..

soooo..

Starting up

  1. starting up traktor 2 I get “Could not initialize traktor probably other instance running” Trakor starts up after a few clicks but this is still annoying..

Cross fader

  1. when I play a song on deck A.. the sound comes out normally, like you would expect but when I move the fader toward decks B (right) there is no sign of as fading.. the sound is just as loud when the cross fader is on deck A to when it is on deck B.

The same goes for deck B, exactly the same problem just the other way round.

So I think there must be a problem with the cross-fader..

Fx

when I play a song in deck B..I went to hit one of the fx.. I noticed that the wet/dry was lighting up fine.. along with fx 2 and 3.. but when I hit fx number 1 there is no light..

When I play a song in deck A.. when I hit the fx number 1 it lights up.. aswell as 2 and 3.. but the wet/dry button does not light up..

Cue

So when a track is playing on deck A.. I want to cue a track for deck B..All I hear in my headphones is the song on deck A ( I haven’t even hit a cue button.. all cue buttons are off) yet I still hear deck A.. I can barely hear the song I want to cue ( deck B)

all of these problems are very annoying I have been watching videos on this controller for ages.. just wishing that I could own it.. I know have it and its just a pain in the ass.. :disappointed:

Should I send it back to the shop or am I doing something wrong? please help

Oh before i forget.. I have already sent one back because the cue button on the bottom of the deck A was not working at all it didn’t even have the click like all of the rest of the buttons

Not sure about the starting up but for your volume not changing when you crossfade, is it set up to internal or external in the settings could be why you aint hearing a change???

  1. restart your computer, make sure only one instance of traktor is running.

  2. next to the CF there are small letters (ABCD), where you can assign the decks to a side of the CF

  3. delete and reload the s2 default mapping

  4. mix knob on the front of your unit is your friend

  5. have fun
