My first live performance!! (Dubstep)

Here’s a recording of my first ever gig. It’s not perfect, but I think overall I did pretty well (especially considering I haven’t even attempting any DJing in over a year to focus on producing). Anyway, I’m definitely looking for feedback since I’ll have future spots here. Thanks guys!

Some non-harmonic transitions, that sounded a bit messy. If you go for a new track that don’t match straight on, make a harsh cut. Otherwise it sounds like a fairly well built set for a first gig. Although personally I find dub a bit boring on its own, I’d still recommend trying to make the set more suprising. How? I don’t know:stuck_out_tongue: Vocals every now and then, familiar melody bits/ samples, D’n’b drops?

Thanks for your feedback guys. And while I appreciate the concerns as far as the harmonic mixing… I honestly didn’t even think about it as I was playing. The only thing I was worried about was getting from one track to the next.

But in any event, thanks for your feedback.

good first gigs are always a good thing (somewhere an english teacher is shaking their head) I remember mine, I finger fucked the records so bad…

Well, i heard the mix last night while playin some games, im not gonna pick apart this mix and try and analyze it or anything. Besides a few sound level issues, nothing really jumped out at me to notice (the bad things). I like the track selection. Congrats on your first gig mate! :sunglasses:

downloading it. love the tracklist and what i’ve heard so far. always so great to hear of good first gig experiences. i remember mine and i absolutely loved it, too. i will give you some more feedback when i found time to hear it through.
