Need help on SW&Midifighter .

Hello ! I am a new member on the DJTechtools site ! I am 21 yrs old , and from 18 yrs old I really liked the midi fighter . So , some days ago , I decided to create my own midi fighter based on the classic midi fighter . I already own an Arduino , so what is missing from me are the Sanwa buttons and the casing , which I am making on Solidworks . Despite being on the 3rd year of Mechanical Engineering , I would still want some help on the some dimensions but mostly the tolerances. Also , I would really want someone to explain to me some basics about the midi fighter , like which sounds are mostly connected to the buttons ( like bass , drum , percussions and etc) . I would really appreciate if you would make it easier for me to understand since I am a newbie on “DJing” . If you dont know about SW , you can just reply to me about telling me about basics on the Midi Fighter sounds and tips , and vice versa . That would be really appreciated . Thanks !

OK first of all welcome to this forum!
Though I must say for someone who has been looking at the MF for 3 years you still somehow have no idea what this controller is capable of? However I will help you in anyway I can, the buttons are Sanwa OBSF-24’s, a simple Google search will give you things like this. Each button of the midi fighter sends a midi note, again this information can be found by a bit of googling. Furthermore I would discourage you from using the arduino and instead look into the teensy, you might wanna look into this thread (and thousands of others discussing this exact thing). Good luck with your DIY controller and be sure to keep us updated (hint we like pictures )

Thanks for replying ! Yes , these years I wasnt much into it , and also , I ve never been into music . I made the model on Sanwa 30s , I can change it though to make it on 24s . I will really look into what you sent me about the Teensyduino , but I doubt that I can make it on another hardware right now. I can send you some pictures on how I ve made it on Solidworks right now . ( Sorry but the colours are a bit messy , I just made this on my first 2 days with Solidworks )

Hey,

Yhea i can imagine, if you want to stick to arduino there are generally three options:

  1. Hiduino (my favourite)
  2. This in combination with this.
  3. And finally something like this. ( I really do not like this method but somehow it’s very populair)

I would really like to see your Solidworks design but unfortunately i can’t view the images (it could be me but i think you somehow used the wrong URL or something like that)

Edit:

For the convenience of other viewers here are the images:

These are some photos , I know its not that good yet , but Im focusing on the DIY now and where to get the Sanwa buttons from. I think I am going with Teensyduino in the end , but where would I find some Sanwa buttons on a low price with low fees ? Also , I found some Sanwa immitation buttons on Ebay for 10 euro for 10 pcs . What would you think would be better to do/buy??
