New S2 user

Hello, I just purchased an S2 and have never owned a controller before that. The thing is a blast to mess around on, but I cannot get my headphones dialed. It keeps playing whatever track my crossfader is on, even without cue being on. And it only plays through the left headphone. Can a brotha get some advice? Thanks!

Okay so let’s look at the dimensions of the S2.
The TOP with all controls, knobs, and etcetera.
The FRONT is where you insert your quarter inch headphone jack.
On the RIGHT SIDE OF THE FRONT, you will see two knobs.
THese knobs can be pushed in/out. Push the knob under “CUE MIX”.
Push it so the knob is out and can be dialed.
If you turn it all the way to the right, it will play whatever the audience can hear. Basically no CUE.
If you turn it all the way to the left, it will play the CUE as long as it is selected above the channel faders.
I prefer to leave it in the 3 o’clock position.

Ahhh, gotcha. Thank you. Still doesnt explain why its only through the left headphone, though.

Two cases:

  1. Make sure the quarter inch headphone jack is all the way in. You should hear a “click” when you insert it properly.
    IF the above method does not work,
  2. Use another headphone/earphone with the quarter inch headphone jack.
    IF the two above methods do not work, I’d take it to a nearby Guitar Center to see if any of the workers there can help fix the problem. IF they can’t, maybe consider a defective hardware and contact NI.
