can i ask you just one question why do you have 2x audio4dj?^^
Hey buddy. Your setup and rooms looks fantastic.
The company I worked for in 2006-2008 was the distributor of Ecler at that time. They sent me an Evo5 for personal and gig use. So technically, the Evo5 wasn’t mine and had to return them before I resigned and transferred to another company. However, the Nuo5 was sold in 2007, in exchange for some other stuff (another hobby). I have kept the DJM500 all along as a backup mixer. Although I will be getting a 2-channel mixer that I can scratch with probably two or three months from now and upgrade it with Innofader.
I bought a Traktor Scratch Duo in early 2010 and upgraded to TSP a month later. I bought another audio4 for my wife (she’s also a DJ) and installed the TSD in her laptop. That’s why we have 2 audio4dj. ![]()
Thanks bro. Nothing much compared to many guys here but it gets the job done. ![]()
Beautiful setup and great looking gear mate. The blue desk is awesome - I assume you manufactured it yourself?
EDIT: The Star Wars trinkets are definitely a major plus ![]()
Thanks man! Yeah I designed the table myself and got a carpenter to build it. ![]()
Your DJM-500 looks to be in pretty good shape. Do you refurb mixers as well?
I did a few but very simple repaints. ![]()
Loving the twin audio 4’s of destruction mate ![]()
Nice one Nicadraus ![]()
I noticed you got that Numark dual cd player…how was it?
is it touch screen?
Thanks! The other one actually belongs to my wife. She’s a DJ too but not very active since last year.
Thanks! The Numark was a media player. The D2 Director. I used it for 3 years and it was very easy to set up. Sold in 2010 and got TSD then eventually upgraded to TSP. The dual CD player is a Denon DN-1800F. ![]()
cool setup just make sure your monitors are 6 to 12 inches away from the wall ![]()
Does this rule apply to all studio monitors or just ported studio monitors?
all of them. your wall will reflect lots of sound specially the corners.
Yup got that covered. My current speakers set up are about 5-6" away from the wall. ![]()
For the last 5 months, I was contemplating on which 2-channel mixer to buy (Discord). My choices were the Vestax VMC-002XLu & Pioneer DJM-250. Other mixers I considered were the American Audio QD-5 & DJ Tech DIF-1s (which is taking forever to be released). About 2 weeks ago I consulted my friend who works as a DJ (by night) and a sales representative (by day) at a local DJ store in Dubai suggested me to go for the DJM-250. After reading reviews from different site, I was convinced. So I asked him to pick up and test a unit for me and bring it when he goes home for a month vacation.
Yesterday I met him at the airport and finally my baby has landed.
After using it for straight 2-hour mixing and a few scratching, here my verdict.
Pros:
-The build looks very sturdy. It’s metal all over.
-The hi/mid/low/gain knobs fell great as they are same to the DJM-800/850/900/2000.
-The CF when set to sharp, is really good.
-The individual filters are same found on the DJM-700/800.
-The additional auxiliary inputs 1, 2 & 3 are going to be very useful.
-XLR (balanced) output is the real scorer
-Fantastic sound output quality.
Cons:
-The channel faders are a bit loose. I would have preferred it to have a little resistance (but it’s suppose to be a battle mixer anyway).
-No curve control for the channel faders (for its price, who would complain)
-No booth out
-Headphone monitoring lacks loudness in volume. This would be a problem at very loud environment(s)/clubs/open air venues. Using headphones with good insulation is a must
Overall, I’m very happy with this little (very straight forward) mixer.
Nice one. I like the simple layout.
