no cd!! help please 
hey sorry if this is a repost.
i just bought a second hand s4 and it didn’t come with a software cd. The guy at the store said i could find the software on ni’s site but i haven’t had any luck finding it =\
do you have the serial number at least? (of the software).
you can only download once the product is activated
try activating it from the site (won’t show in Service Center since you don’t have it installed) but i don’t know if it’s possible with new products. if it doesn’t work contact support.
if you don’t have the serial take it back to the store.
that is not cool to see a piece of gear w/o the serial. If you have the serial, contact NI support and see if they can help out.
Let us know what the outcome is.
thx for the quick replies guys, no serial number on the bottom =\ i called up the store and the guy said he had it kicking around somewhere :s so hopefully it should be all good.
edit: hopefully the previous owner deactivated it =\
I really doubt it will all be good. The software has more than likely been registered and he’ll have to unregister it through NI before you can register it. That is if he’s the one that registered it. If the unit was sold and then returned the person that originally bought it will have to unregister it. I would take it back and tell him you want a new unopened unit because you can’t download the S4 software at all.
i got a really good deal on this man. I got the seller to email the original owner, hopefully everything will work out 
alright, got the serial!!!
i can’t figure out where i download s4 version of traktor though :S (sorry i’m horrible with all this registration stuff, i hate gear switches -_-)

I would actually call them. They have an office in Los Angeles. I spent over a month emailing them about an issue with my X1. I ended up calling them and had it resolved immediately.

I think you may need to download the trial version of any Traktor version and it will ask you to enter a serial number if you’ve purchased it. Once you have the “service center” downloaded when you enter a serial number it knows what you need to download. In this case it would be the S4 1.0.1 software.
I would start there.
