NS6 Riser effect on S4?

NS6 Riser effect on S4?

Hi Djtechtools,

I was wondering whether the Riser-effect on the NS6, which is shown in the video below, also can be done on a Traktor Kontrol S4? and when it is possible, how can it be done?

I feel like you could do it. I’m thinking everything would be the same except the breaker effect (use turntable fx instead)?

I don’t know how to get the turntable fx to activate instantly though, there’s always some sort of delay..

I know you could easily take a sample beat, cut it down to 1/8 for that tone, use the pitchbend slider to create the climax, but the Turntable Effect might not be the same on Traktor as the break affect. At least I haven’t gotten it to break rapidly like that.

he’s right grab a loop and turn it till its how ya like it 32 or 16th’s.
then use the turntable fx. you can play with it until the effect is short and release quick and use the pitch bend.

you follow me?

create a loop, reduce its size, play with the pitch fader or whatever to change its tone, you can even add some flanger and reverb on that (or add a lfo for some wobbling) , use a ttfx as the “break” effect.

It’s a “buffer” effect, you need to choose it and select the needed channel, wait for 8 counts so it can stack its buffer duration. But what’s the big deal, you can pre load it like in the video.

Ok Thanks, I thought it might be 8 beats because I’ve been playing with it a lot recently but I was trying to figure out if I could get it to happen instantly. This makes sense though.

…yet another reason why S4 should have the channel pitch control default mapped to a knob. There are plenty of unused shift-knob cases (like gain), please add that in.

Ok thanks people! yet i figured i could make the ‘riser’ tone using the Turntable FX and the pitch fader, but i’m glad you all confirmed that that is the only way to do it. Or is there any way to use the pitchbend buttons to make that tone like the guy is doing in the video?
