One thing led to another.....

One thing led to another…

Me being a college student with so much free time and no money I decided to just take my Numark Mixtrack and my brand new Behringer speaker and go out in the hallway of my dorm and blast some good music. Did so for about an hour while other students past by and loving the music (did some recent songs but mostly old school hiphop and rap). One thing led to another and this one guy I see around on my floor all the time stopped by and said he needed a dj for tonight but he was low on cash but I can have all I wanted to drink at the party. I decided I should since being a Thursday night a lot of people would be out and it was a good chance to get my name known around the area. I got there 1 hour early to have enough time to set up and get ready. It was slow at first but I was promised that people will show up and my free drinks:smiley:. At around 11 to 11:30 people started pouring in and the floor was packed. This being my first time playing for an all white party, I’m Latino by the way, I was kind of nervous. Then something good but unexpected happen. The owner of the house brought a medium side tin can and told me to lower the music. “The more tips the more request” he shouted. I made atleast 35 bucks within the hour. Overall a great experience and my longest gig ever which was 5 hours. Best thing of all? They liked me so much I got hired for another party tonight. Best experience as a DJ…

cool deal man. There’s nothing like playing out and just jamming to a good vibe of others having a good time. One door opens another.

the more the bitches love me, the louder i play.

i make bank and get puzzay

DJ5DollaHolla you so funny.

good work dude! but i was honestly surprised when you mentioned being nervous with the race thing, i guess things are very different over here, no1 really gives a shit what you are

Its not really any different its just that when you are used to playing for a type of crowd and then play for another you don’t know what to expect. But I did what I had to do and I’ll be back in that same house next weekend playing.

nice work man.. its funny how things work out sometimes!

Quite scary, that is exactly how I started and how I have been doing, by word of mouth and through mates I keep meeting at parties. I’m currently at the huge fraternity/local bar stage, hoping I can start remixing/producing my own stuff so I can open some local shows sometime! Keep it up!

Cool story bro…

No really that is actually really cool, it’s so nice when everything just falls into place!

Thats how it all begins bro!

That’s awesome man!
