OT the summer movies…I want to see all of them!!!

Firstly let me say that I am a serious nerd at heart. But every single summer “blockbuster” movie this year looks fucking awesome.

Thor

Harry Potter

Green Lantern (Check out sinestro leading the lanterns (and the cameo of the yellow lantern possible part 2?)

And even Transformers 3 (even though 2 was straight up hot garbage)

So I guess I’m going to have to make some time this summer for me and the kiddos to go to the movies :smiley:

Kiss - Generally the big movies don’t really appeal to me but this year there just seems like there are a bunch of excellent ones coming out.

‘Blockbusters’ especially seem to be marketed at a homogenous market-analysed-to-death section of the populace that they end up as edgy as a blancmange. The studios put so much cash into them that they can’t afford a flop and any potential for controversy needs to be removed off in case they mortally offend a vocal minority.

Which is why I’m not that arsed by giong to the cinema, especially when it costs a sodding fortune…

To be fair I go to see superhero movies to see ridiculous fight scenes, I’m not to bothered about edgy plotlines :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy high quality cinema, but I also like watching smash bang movies with my brain in a semi-vegetative state :smiley:

The manager / owner of the club we frequently play at we extras in the Captain America movie :smiley: But Spor, Transformers 3 and Planet of the Apes looks good :slight_smile:

these type of movies are just dumb fun, nothing wrong with a bit of mindless diversion. there’s a time and place for them just as there is a time and a place for the latest film festival hyped art-house flick.
