Don’t people find the clue within the sound of the track and make their own mind up?
This is mainroom Electro House. Some songs that sound like this are:
-Nari & Milani - Atom (this was one of the first in this sound, actually every Nari & Milani track from 2012/2013 sounds like this)
-Hard Rock Sofa - Rasputin
-Tiësto - Chasing Summers (R3hab & Quintino Remix)
-Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound (Rolvario Remix) (this one less)
-Leon Bolier - Disco Davai
-Ivan Gough vs. Stevie Mink & Steve Bleas - Boom!
I hope I helped you! ![]()
It is progressive house.
Apparently it’s Progrestro. Whatever it is, I’d walk out if I heard it.
Big room / Electro..
For the mainstream people, Progressive House means melodic drop and Electro House means electronic drop. You know guys, it’s all about the drop nowadays. Please correct me if I’m wrong! ![]()
It’s not progressive, atleast not in the original sense. The Matt Lange track is a good example of proper progressive. I’d call the OP’s track for big room. If you want to find similar tracks, you do have to look under ‘progressive’ on beatport
someone already mentioned toxic rush, theres another track called atom, which goes well with toxic rush slamming from one back to the other…
Old school Sasha & Digweed, Hernan Catteneo, Henry Saiz. Dave Seaman, old GU cds… They’re progressive house..
SHM, Nicky Romero, Nari and Milani etc… Not Progressive House, regardless of what Beatport wants to call it.
Interesting side note. What artist has made both ‘variations’ of ‘progressive’?
Ivan Gough! (I can’t actually find the track I’m looking for on YouTube. It’s become over run with all his other crap, he was big in the old school Mebourne prog scene in the early 00s with Chable, Infusion, Phil K etc.)
He used to write under Traveller.
Different for everyone i guess
I’d go for Electro House ! For some people it may not be, but this is my vision of the thing.
Anyway i think that if you are trying to find same music as this, i’d call it Electro House, 'cause that’s how they call it on beatport, and that’s how you’ll find songs like this one !
Why don’t you go check this tune on BT and Hang around there in the section “titles you may like” ? ![]()
Exactly! Shame Beatport don’t have a cheesey synth EDM pop genre. The majority of that shite would fit nicely into there.
Agree with this most definitely, can shove well over half the tripe listed in their Top 100 straight in to that too ![]()
Ok guys i’m gonna spill some local knowledge on your heads.
That sound (how I interpret it in any case) is know as “Melbourne Bangers” or “Melbourne Underground” I’m serious haha.
This is the big sound in Melbourne Australia right now and to be honest I think it is the next big sound worldwide.
The main player in the game is an Australian producer “Will Sparks” and lots of international DJ’s are taking cues and using his tracks.
Obviously the main distinction of this style is the off kick bass line (stolen from psy-trance but that’s another story)
I.E.
Just to be honest, I don’t like this type of music… But i’m Australian so I know this.
I’m late to the party but agree 100%. All of that sounds exactly like electro house in my opinion.
I’m Australian, I live in Melbourne.
Yeah there is lots of this f*cking crap around (Will Sparks is probably the most overrated producer in Oz)
Melbourne still has a HUGE scene of actual good music. The main people listening to this stuff are 18-21 year old juice heads, the only reason I’ve even heard this stuff (I frequent clubs that play good music) is because some muppet promoter had Will Sparks warm up for SCNTST when he toured.
I know I’ve gone a little off topic and a had a bit of a rant it’s just this whole ‘Melbourne Sound’ & ‘Melbourne Bangers’ does my head in and I hope to god it never makes it out of Australia.
Don’t get me wrong mate, I hate this crap as much as you. All it is is slowed down psy trance with terrible samples and arpeggiated leads.
You are 100% right about Will Sparks and I too hope this junk dies quickly.
Bring on Digweed and Pappa for the 13hr Darkbeat!
I live in a small country on the other side of the world in the cold north atlantic nort of Schotland and I’ve played Will Sparks and also Jewelz & Scott Sparks - Flashbang. I have heard other DJ that have so it’s already to late it has made it out of Australia.
For a marked that is overcrowded you need to play what brings prople to the dance floor or stay a bedroom DJ.
The trick is in the name of one of R.I.O’s songs “Turn this club around” you start with what people like then slowly turn it around to what you think is cool and for the most part I’ve noticed the crowed likes it too, they did just not know it because they never heard it on the radio.
When people enter a club only hearing songs or style they don’t know they’ll move on (some one already said that in this thread that if this was played in a club they would leave) One could call it narowed minded but it just the truth. If people don’t like the music they’ll leave or start talking bad about that shitty DJ up there.
When I listen to music I listen to feels dos this song make me want to relax, to jump or just turn it of. The once that make relax make it onto my main computer to listen to when doing stuff for fun. those that make want to jump around (and I think make others too) get on my gig laptop and the others don’t make it anywhere or get deleted.
Here is one more I think might fit the same style
I dont like to get into these, this isnt such and such a genre as its subjective, but so is this
“no no no no no”
