pioneer crossfader replacement deadzone

pioneer crossfader replacement deadzone

hi there,
I recently replaced my crossfader on my djm 700 and now notice a deadzone occurring on either end of the fader. The music from the opposite deck does not start playing through the speakers until the second “tick” on the crossfader is passed. this picture illustrates what i mean by ticks: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0247/9383/products/DJM_800_Cross_fader_panel_copy_1024x1024.jpg?v=1383891020

This is apparent for both the A and B sides. So i’m wondering if anyone out there with a pioneer mixer is experiencing the same thing? It may just be normal. And if not how do i fix it? Thanks in advance for the info!

The Djm 700 i’ve used cut in at the first tick and are fairly sharp. Did you replace with a pioneer fader? I’d try the
“Mini Innofader pnp p” they fit and plug right into teh 700 and you can adjust teh cut in or deadzone to your preference. Elliot is a cool guy and will help you if you need.

When I switched out the stock fader in my DJM-850, I noticed 2 “stops” at each end of teh fader, that could be bent with pliers to adjust the cut-in of the fader (removing dead space).

Post a pic of the fader assembly - maybe it’s the same or similar to teh DJM-850 fader…

Here are the pictures. I’m not really sure what you are talking about though..
