Pioneer DDJ-SX2 with TSP2

Pioneer DDJ-SX2 with TSP2

Ok, i think i’m driving myself mad…

Long story short, on Friday past I won myself a brand new Pioneer DDJ-SX2 (i know, a seriously cool prize) in a DJ competition ran by an also very cool DJ community based in Belfast, N.Ireland, known as the Beat Emporium! Obviously the controller designed for Serato DJ, with which it works flawlessly.

Its advertised as compatible with Traktor Pro…

Now, I have the most up to date firmware, and the official Pioneer TSI file for it…but I can’t get it to work at all. Im running TSP 2.7.0, but I’ve also tried it with 2.6.8.

I’ve forced the controller into midi mode, that doesn’t work…although Ableton will see it OK. TSP just doesn’t want to know.

The only thing I can think of is NI won’t allow a non certified mixer to work with Traktor Scratch Pro, rather than TP

Anyone any other ideas? Have I left out something stupid?

I run my sx2 with TSP. You just cant do timecode with it. I am using the stock mapping from pioneer too. IN the controller editor, are all of the parts of the TSI set to have the DDJ SX as the input and output? Sometimes they can get set to All Ports and this causes an issue.

Thanks for the reply, I know two parts definately had the SX2 as the in and out, but i’ll need to double check the other 5 parts, I’ve a feeling you’re on to something!

How do the jogs respond for scratching/cueing like you would with a CDJ?

Honestly. Anything jog wheel made by pioneer kinda sucks with traktor. They drift A LOT! I never had an issue with serato tho.

Mapping question > mapping forum.

It wasn’t directly a mapping question per say…but its all good!

Thanks hellnegative, thats all it was, the port settings…havent came across that before with my 2d or touch osc
