I have recently got into scratching and after much research I am looking for a Pioneer DJM 909 that is in good condition. Hit me up with a price shipped to 54893. I will be paying through paypal. I would like to see detailed pics before purchase. Thank you!
For that price, I’m shure it’s trashed and missing things…
Be shure to check out the functions of the touch screen (espc. sticky bank buttons), the contrast & brightness wheels and bleeding of the line fader.
Parts are hard to find or they are asking outragous prices (so make shure you not missing any knobs).
The 909 is an AWSOME mixer, if it’s solid then snatch it up…
I tested the mixer last night and found that the crossfader 2 & channel 2 fader curve knobs on the front did not work. I took the front panel off the mixer and found the small metal boxes that houses the knobs were slightly apart (unlike the two that worked) so I put the back together and replaced the front panel. The channel 2 fader curve knob now works but not the crossfader 2 knob. When I turn the mixer on and select the fader curve button that shows the curves on the lcd screen I see the crossfader two is in the middle of the screen but slowly moves all the way to the sharp setting without me turning the knob. When I turn the knob it does nothing. Luckly the channel 2 line fader curve now works which is good cause it was set on sharp. Even though the crossfader 2 curve is not working it sets itelf to sharp lol which is what I need for scratching anyways. I am debating if I should return the mixer (if even possible) or ask them to have it repaired (if they even would) or just keep it and install an innofader in it. What do you think?
I paid $600 for the mixer and flight case. Prob not the best deal but I thought it was better than buying one online and never know what you will get.
I will post some pics later.
I downloaded the manual and have been reading up on it and playing around with the it. Do the transform switches do anything besides mute the channel? Why didn’t they just call it mute? lol
The faceplate is in really good condition. I found a website with replacement parts for the 909 and a new board that would replace all the curve adjust knobs would be $50. I will be calling them on Monday to see if they will order the part.
I’d take it back…or get the cost back for the repairs.
It’s not a bad price with the case IF it was in 100% working condition.
One of the things that made the 909 were the faders. To install an innofader @ 100$ + is not cost effective and will change the feel…but hey, if price is not an issue then try it out.
You avoided a online sale, but doesn’t seem like you got what you wanted locally. At least with PayPal & eBay…there is some coverage.
I see the going rate for them is around $500. I miss mine from time to time.
Good luck-
