podcast services
what are some good and free places to upload podcasts to?
i want to link this to itunes, if that matters. and im giving pod o matic a shot at the moment
podomatic is the best free one I think. I’ve read some talk of people using drop box, but have never seen anyone confirm it can be done.
GIYF. “Podcast hosting” or “free podcast hosts” look like promising search terms to me.
I use podomatic and its pretty good as they give u stats ect
alright, so to get my podcast from podomatic to itunes, what do i do.
i know i need to go to ‘submit a podcast’ but is there anything in between? or a specific URL i need to give them?
I used podomatic for a while. They have a free service and you can also upgrade to a pro service which is what I eventually did because the free one has limited space. I think its a great service though!! Now i just host my own though on my server, which is the best way, but not the easiest.
i tried reading through that before. i couldnt follow any of it.
basically i want to know if i can just give them the url for my podcast (on the submission page)
or if i need to set up an rss (not sure how) and give them that
I am trying to do that too.
so, i went to my podomatic podcast page
theoreticalpodcast.podomatic.com (not advertising, im just making sure i did this right)
then on the right side i clicked ‘RSS Feed’
then went to ‘podcasts’ on the itunes store, and on the right i went to ‘submit a podcast’
then i gave them the url for the rss (The Think Tank) and submitted it
did i do anything wrong? (i know the submission prosses takes time, but was that the right link to give?)
I think that’s it. iTunes should pull the description and all other info it needs from the podomatic page. I think it took mine a day or two before it showed up in iTunes.

Please search first, I know their used to be a podcast thread, but I can’t recall if it also listed our own podcasts.
Write your own PHP script to take meta data out of a MP3 file which has been uploaded through an intuitive drupal module and upload it feedburner. That oughta trumph any podcast service. I have yet to write it because I’m lazy. I got started last summer but never finished.
