Poll: Firewire on Mac - do you use it?

Poll: Firewire on Mac - do you use it?

Right title says it all - I’m interested to know how many Mac users actually still use their firewire for audio/HDD while in the club?

I’m selling my firewire port if there’s any takers, only used once.

I voted yes, but I don’t really use it while I’m DJing. I have an external HD that I use to backup my unused goods (including some unused music). Seems like it will be phased out with the new thunder ports over time.

While I voted yes, I only use it for Protools work not Traktor DJing.

I even don’t own anything that has a firewire plug.

Hey Chris hows things!

This poll is really trying to gauge how many people actually utilize the firewire while DJing, not in general use.

O and Tekki get a Mac (and a real controller) :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude, you missed something?

Did you?

Or do I have to do a triple post on this one?

See what you made me do in here?

erm - your bad grammar?

mine’s free

Dude… You still have two chances…

used once when a mate came over with his Traktor library on a firewire external HDD. I felt almost dirty plugging something into that virgin port.

And… You’re totally out of capitols in your answer. :stuck_out_tongue:

lol I nearly submitted “erm - you bad grammar?” the first time - nah I have no clue dude?

i use it with a ext firewire HD

I only use FW hard drives.

Once you’ve experienced how slow USB is and how convenient it is to be able to daisy chain devices with a legitimate power supply, it’s hard to go back.

Now, for Traktor…I use a pair of X1s and an Audio 2…which are all USB. It’s annoying having to use a hub. But I don’t use an external hard drive for DJing…just for backups and archives. If I needed an external drive or were doing anything more complicated, I’d use my FW audio interface and hard drives.

LoLz… But this is me, practicing my MIDIs at the moment:

So please take it back, or you’ll be doing in your own home.

You look nothing like your Avatar. The bubble is burst.
