press play - track starts at second kick

im finding that not only do tracks sometimes skip backwards a little on pressing play but now on a track i loaded tonight, press play and it skips and starts playing from the second kick instead of where the loop is cued to ..

this is in an eight bar loop right at the start of the track …

anyone else … ? :disappointed:

Is this with T-Pro?

yes sorry forgot to say

are you sync’d to the master clock?

thats what I was thinking that it was a sync-ing issue and maybe the beatgrid was making it skip.

Yeah, I know that’s slipped me up before.

hi guys

yes im synched to the master clock

That’s what’s happening. You are sync’d to the master clock and when you hit play it’s waiting for the next tick in the clock to hit the beat.

I don’t think there’s a way around this if you want to stay sync’d, but if you turn off the sync and get that first hit then the mix will be off.

hi

this is nt during a mix - im beatgridding tracks - nothing in the other decks

just when i hit play - skips to the second kick

not happened today though

thanks

huh… when you’re beat gridding just unsync it from the master clock and see if it happens again.

there’s a easy explanation why this happens:

if you enable the master clock (manual mode) then traktor has got a metronome running in its background. you can enable the tick to hear this master metronome through your headphones (even if no track is running). if you then hit play and you hit it not exactly on a tick then it gets synced to the next tick, meaning it will jump either a little bit back or a little bit forth.

i know that because i used to sync to the master clock (but as the master clock is kinda corrupt in some cases in tpro until 1.1 is out i’m not using it right now).

conclusion:
if you sync against the master clock keep tick activated and hit play exactly at a tick, then you won’t have any problems

thanks for that

i had a feeling that it would be something like that

honest !!
