Preview player self activating

for whatever reason the preview player keeps self activating. It starts and stops by itself making it hard ass hell to cue up tracks and scroll through the library with the browser encoder. Im running tp2 2.0.3 and tried using the new ks4 driver 3.0 but overall usage is crap with the new driver so im using 2.9.8 driver.

I tried using the controller editor to dsiable the preview player but im not sure how to really use the controller editor

Haven’t messed with the S4 much, but I realized when you ‘clicked’ in the scroll knob for library browsing, it would preview the track. Is the knob clicking in when you go to turn it or is it just previewing the track as you turn the knob?

it happens as i turn the knob and with out me even touching the knob

Hmm I’d try going into your controller manager and reloading the S4 mapping if you haven’t already given that a go.

Try that ^. Add>Traktor>Kontrol S4>Default

+1 on the reset/reload of the S4 default mapping.

As a suggestion for a short/mid term fix, you could build a custom mapping to:
0. Preferences → Controller Manager → Device → Add → Traktor → S4 User

  1. Add In → Preview → Unload (w/ inverse) on the browse encoder move
  2. Add In → Browser → List → List Select Up/Down

there are pretty good chances that this will fix your issue … but i have no clue what’s causing it …

On a side not, I’m also experiencing strange issues with the Browse encoder when remapping it. My goal is to have Tree Scroll & Push Expand w/ the Left Shift. The push & the clockwise direction work perfect, but the counterclockwise doesn’t work properly - it’s like it’s sending an additional command, very strange. I wish it had a “recallibrate” option, like some other controls.

i did the reset but still its self activates the browser encoder actually broke off while i was turning it!! so I’m currently waiting for a response from NI and the warranty company i purchased the extended
warranty through.

but one funny thing i did notice is that on the 4th i played at a bbq and when i used the gain encoders for decks a and b the preview player would activate then as well…stange
