I do both.
Been djing for years and im trying to get into music production lately
more production less djing…its more fun and challenging for me
+1
having a break from djing for more than a year now…currently venturing into production & sound design
I do both music production and djing, though I produce more then I do dj.
Both
I love production and DJing, they work hand in hand, especially since you can use all your project files, etc. in your live sets. I love it.
Both more producing than DJing at the moment
at the moment I’m pretty much only producing.
I’ve been half-assed producing for years now. Just something to pass the time really, and I love learning it.
I recently was able to save up for a turntable setup, and so have been doing a bit more mixing than production lately. It’s an interesting thing for me. Sometimes I just get inspired to work on some tracks, and others I just want to mix other people’s stuff.
I don’t play out yet, so it’s just for fun. But I’m trying to get better at mixing and putting production more on a backburner, at least until I feel comfortable with my technical skills.
Been DJing for just over 3 years and I am trying to get into producing now, just have to save up for a while so I can afford the software

DJing: over 30 years
Production: 15 years
I started off just djing but just picked up producing pretty recently and they go hand in hand, its always good to be able to play your own music/edits
DJing is the best, if not the only way to get your music known. I know alot of quality amatuer producers who cant get paid for their awesome work because they dont do live shows.
Just started djing under a year ago, don’t play out yet tho. I would really like to get into producing, and Ill probably be taking a ableton crash course in the summer to get started ![]()
