I actually originally posted this on the mappings forum, but I realize now it is more a question regarding the S4 than anything.
So I guess I’ll start small here, because I’m not fully sure how the S4 underlying mappins work. How does one go about implementing a mapping that someone else have already created into the S4?
On Traktorbible.com, there are some free .tsi files that some really nice people have shared. Since I’m not skilled with putting together mappings yet, I figured trying one of these free mappings would be a great start. Specifically the mapping that turns the deck faders into master clock faders.
This one ----> http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=102
If I import the .tsi for the mapping I mentioned above, should my S4 just automatically change to the newly imported mapping? If I just delete the .tsi after, should everything go back to the way it was before? And lastly, has anyone tried this mapping? It has a lot of good fuctionality, theoretically, for mixing tracks with very different tempos.
dunno about that particular tsi file, when you start having unexpected behavior is when the default mapping is still working like it should, hence it has not been overridden or can’t be done properly. we would have to wait for them to open the door like they have with the X1 to have a fully customizable NHL controller.
I would keep the original mapping and configure mods in midi mode, like the master tempo faders, then switch back.
this is probably a dumb question but ill ask anyways… will we be able to use the DJTT VCI 100 mappings for the S4 one day? I miss my VCI effects!!! lol
Wow that sounds awesome! Does that mean that there’s going to be a Kontrol SE from DJTT? or will it just be some sort of update for the existing S4? I’m only asking because I want to grab an S4, but if DJTT is making a modded version I might just wait
