Question on Sound Output: Need 1 or 2 TRS Cables for Stereo?

Hi there,

The other day, playing at the local club, oddly enough I needed to use 2 TRS cables instead of the usual one. I’m a newbie, so I’m confused as to what if any setting changed in Traktor Pro 2 or if I need to change anything either on it or in the Kontrol S4 hw.

I thought since I’m mixing internally in TP2 using the S4 I’d need only one 1/4 inch Male to RCA Splitter Cables, like these:

Why out of the blue did I need 2? If I only used one, out of the Main Out 1, I only heard the sound in half the speakers…

you need to connect main out 1 & 2
either with this cable

The only way your cable would work is if you plugged it into the headphone jack haha…each 1/4" output on the s4 is balanced and mono. Just a heads up there’s basically 3 types of cables you need for the s4 to hook up in clubs…a pair of RCA’s, a pair of 1/4" TRS male to 1/4" TRS male cables, and a pair of 1/4" male TRS to male XLR cables.
