Questions about powering speakers
Not entirely sure this is the right forum, but I figured someone here might be able to school me on a few things. I’m looking at picking up some sub cabinets and I found a pair of Cerwin Vega Bass/Sub cabinets model B-36A. Will these work for live dj-ing? And does anyone know a little more about them? I’m also looking at a pair of Ross System cabinets model R112HC for the Mid/high ranges. Again, would these work well for a live dj in combo with the CV?
Finally, I know a little about passive speakers and how to power them from car audio and home theater, but these have 1/4" phono plus on the back. I’ve never seen anything like that, is it a power handling thing? Would I be able to use a receiver to power these or will they require a dedicated amplifier? I’m trying to keep the cost down, as they’ll only ever see maybe 100 people max and in a 30’x30’ room.
