Hi all,

been playing around with how to get an autofilter type sound out of traktor that would sound like the autofilter on the djm 800…not doing to well at it as i type lol…

any ideas on how we can get this done?

Traktor has the ladder filter built in for each channel… just need to map it to something.

Z2 filter is nice in traktor 2.6

It’s in there… you now have 3 filter options. Xone, Ladder and Z.

The z2 filter is in the mixer preferences options.

Agreed, although I would have liked it better if it killed (almost) all frequencies at 100%.

Z2 is pretty low resonance.

What’s the link between a filter and resonance? It’s just cutting frequencies, no?

Most analogue filters have a resonance control. I don’t use Traktor’s filters personally as they’re a poor substitute. I use this Electrix Pro Filter Factory | Vintage Synth Explorer and the filters on my A&H mixer.

Cutting frequency yes, but applying resonance gives more space and flavor to sound.

It should be there automatically in 2.6. You might try and add the default mapping for a Z2 in the controller manager. Add>Traktor>Kontrol Z2>Default. If you don’t see that then you’re not using 2.6

im a retard i just figured out u guys were talking about the new z2 mixer…:disappointed:…i was asking more along the lines of someone building an autofilter like effect with traktor’s effects

Noooooo… we are not talking about the mixer. There are filters built into the Traktor software. In previous versions, there was the “Ladder” filter which emulates the Pioneer DJM-800 filters… and there was a “Xone” filter which emulates the Xone mixers filter. The new “Z” option emulates the filter on the new Z2 mixer. All 3 filter options are built into the Traktor software and can be mapped to the controller of your choice.
