Recommended soundcard for Xone 92?

Recommended soundcard for Xone 92?

I record podcasts as a bedroom DJ and use a simple setup: two CDJ-900’s and a (newly-acquired) Xone 92.

The most important thing for me is sound quality (thus the 92)

  • Which soundcard will be a good compliment when it comes to quality?
  • What will the the ideal signal path to maximize sound quality? For example, when it comes to sending the signal to a soundcard, should I use Record Out (RCA), Mix 1 (XLR), Mix 2 (1/4") or Booth (1/4")? And which out from a soundcard to the computer will retain the most quality? USB?
  • I use Audacity to record. Will that be a bottleneck for any of this?

Thanks for any tips!

Any kind of studio/DJ interface (NI Audio line, Scarlett,…).
Just use quality RCA’s.
Audacity is fine, maybe if you have a decent DAW like Ableton record in it and do some work on the final mix.

Anything RME would be my recommendation. Awesome converters and some of the best drivers for PC and Mac.
They also have balanced inputs so you can use the master XLR’s from the 92, or the Master 2 TRS outs if you’re already using the XLR’s.

Probably wait a couple of weeks thou to see if they release anything new at Messe as they’ve just recently discontinued their entry level Babyface
