Recording with Traktor (Is it just for live sets?)

Hi all,

I bought TraktorDJStudio 2 many years ago, and got used to making mixes using little chunks of spare time. I loved that I could leave a mix, come back, do overdubs, redo the crossfading if I didn’t like it, etc.

Does that functionality still exist in any of the new Traktor software, or does it just do a straight recording of the set, with no ability to overdub, change FX, and all that?

Currently I have Traktor Studio3 as well, though I haven’t played around with it much because it seems much more confusing, and I wasn’t able to find this recording functionality.

No, it’s gone now.

Moved to general discussion

No, that hasn’t existed for as long as I’ve used traktor. This actually came up in conversation a while back with a friend, I had no idea it used to be a feature and is pretty cool.

It IS however something you can do with routing Traktor into Ableton. It just gets a bit more complex with routing however. I do believe there was a thread kicking around talking about how to set it up.

I know it’s not the same as the old feature (which was pretty neat, but also probably pretty niche so that’s why the dropped it). But it can give you more of a studio mix approach to recording.
