I was browsing the internet for a digital dj setup.
I found the reloop contour IE.
So here it is, I’m quite new to the digital djing scene. I’ve been looking around and browsing the internet.
my idea:
run a laptop with traktor for basic djing (small party’s, small gigs) with 2 reloop contour IE and a (digital) four channel mixer in between.
And later when it’s all working and I wanna kcik it up a knotch I’ll introduce ableton and combine them. (bigger gigs, live producing and musical performances)
I know this is a lot to handle for one person so there is a little side note:
I’m going to be doing all of this with a friend of mine. (except some of the small party’s.)
I’d like to hear your thoughts, comments, pros, cons, reviews for the contour and corrections in my english.
i think the reloop contour is quite expensive and you would probably be able to get more out of 2 xone 1d’s and or 2 kontrol x1’s and a 4 channel mixer like the xone92 or the ddm 4000 depending on your price range or you could have a look at the kontrol s4 and then when you want to go the ableton route grab an apc40 or something similiar. the traktor/ableton setup can easily be managed by one person
Ye, the great thing for me about the contour is that it can also be used as a stand alone. that way me and that friend of mine can practice the basics at home, try new fx chains etc. With many setups you’d need the whole setup to do many of those things, as far as I know.
I like it that the contour has a touch sensitive jogwheel, so it can be played some what like a cd player.
I know it is way different, but it has more of a DJ idea to it than the X1.

Does anyone have any experience with the reloop rmx 40 usb.
the rmx 40 won an award for best under €800 4 channel mixer.
and it can control traktor with the usb conection.
would take a while to map tho, but it could be interesting.
Alright man, Reloop makes really cheap stuff. Listen to what DJMilk3y said. An X1 and mixer is probably going to be what you want. You should also check out the Xone:2D. Before all that though, you might want to try learning how to DJ, then go to your local sound and light store and try some controllers so you can actually understand them.
