Sad news RIP
So bummed about this. Godfather of House. Took the sound of Larry Levan and helped propel it into what we know as “True House Music”.
His contribution to music, let alone House music is an incredible legacy. His influence on countless DJs, musicians, and other artists will live on long past all of us. If there is a “better place” after this life, it is surely grooving tonight.
R.I.P.
Very sad day for house music.
A sad day for many. Died much too soon. ![]()
Wow, that’s horrible. RIP ![]()
I know this name too. ![]()
Only just found out. Genuinely sad to hear this. Met him a number of times and he was always a gentle soul with a true passion for the music and giving the best of himself for others to enjoy. His original music and remixes will live on forever. RIP Frankie.
Aw man…this sucks!
RIP Godfather, and thanks for your contributions to the music world!
Rough night/morning here in Chi town
Just adding to all the tributes across many different media channels, tis very sad the passing of him. Had the pleasure of hearing him play at a MoS night in the mid 90’s - he’s got one helluva legacy.
Just saw this. ![]()
For a moment I thought it was an April Fools’ joke, only made it sadder ![]()
Rest in Piece Frankie, we needed your love ![]()
He had so much love to give…as the saying goes.
RIP Frankie you will be missed.
Very sad indeed.
Frankie, dj Sneak, David Morales and George Morel were my influences when I got into house music in 1994.
Here is my absolute favorite house track. Talking about Frankie and the birth of our groove. We lost one of the key pioneers of our sound, a sound that will NEVER die.
Rest in peace Frankie! ![]()
Rest in Peace Frankie - One of the Pioneers
im wondering whats going to happen with HIS collection?
i cant believe i still have its early 90’s CD in my old CD book
still with no scratches. MAN im going to cry if i play one of them this week.
New car, old beats, never ending memories. Ran into him PLENTY of nights. Shook hands, made my mark on the crowd
then dipped back into the dark part of the booth under the rack lights to let him hold the stage.
what a great man. Always elevated the people around him
