S2 Mapping help - sample knob to filter

So, the clicks on the shift + gain irritate the heck out of me, i like having a smooth transition and a stop and start point to the knob itself.

So i’ve remapped the filters to the sample knob which I dont use really, and the a/b buttons I want to toggle the filter on on the a/b decks. That all works, except as soon as I move the sample knob, it turns the filter on on both decks regardless of whether I’ve got them toggled on/off with the buttons.

Does anyone know how to fix that?

Maybe map the knob to “Deck Focus” instead of A/B and use your buttons for selecting the focus?

Thanks, I’ll give that a bash tomorrow and report back

+1 on this.

However you can set a modifier with two values regards to A and B buttons to make a cleaner solution.

Button A:

Add in > Modifier 1
modifier condition - M1=2
type - button
interaction - direct
value = 1
Add out / Modifier 1 (LED)
controller range - min=1 ; max=1

Button B:

Add in > Modifier 1
modifier condition - M1=1
type - button
interaction - direct
value = 2
Add out / Modifier 1 (LED)
controller range - min=2 ; max=2

Now just assign your filter commands to corresponding modifier values.

Deck A / M1=1
Deck B / M1=2

I made this example with Modifier 1 but you can use any of eight which is available in your mapping.

BLOWN MY MIND… this is the first time I’ve ever mapped anything so you’ll have to bear with me.

I’ve set up the modifiers exactly how you’ve said.

So I assign a filter on control as such.

Deck A
Modifier Conditions M1=2
Controller type Knob
Interaction mode Direct
Device Target = A

Deck B
Modifier Conditions M1=1
Controller type Knob
Interaction mode Direct
Device Target = B

I tried that, but it didnt toggle the filter on and off.

I haven’t even tried to do the knob yet.

Thanks for your help.

This did work, but the focus remained on deck A when I wasnt holding the button, if it could some create a deck focus to neither on the button release, then it would work, but I’m liable to hit the knob when going for the volume or the browse and messing anything im mixing up

And for reference, this was the video I used originally to try and work it out, if theres a combination of the modifiers I need to be using
