s4 good or no good?

s4 good or no good?

hi guys…

I have been using the vci 100 foe years now… do you think the s4 replaces it in a good way? the vci is just so stable…

i mapped and programmed many things the s4 can do long before the s4 came out…

whats ur experience? any problem with jog wheel?
and how do u carry it?

i havent had it yet…

thnxs

All good and don’t regret selling my VCI to get the S4 one bit.

Ive been thinking about selling my VCI-100 SE (#5 of 100)

yeah but can u do things with the s4 like the vci? if the vci had a fader or jog wheel problem i would fix it within a few minutes…

can u do this to s4? many people said it aint possible… cuz u cant buy the parts right?

Ill be honest a lot of people jumped on the S4 and didnt have much experience on how to troubleshoot gear. they wanted everything to be plug and play. Being a digital dj requires you to be part geek and part handy manny to fix things.

Amen brother, IMO it’s much easier to beatmatch than it is to midi map and be part computer tech.

Especially if they ever get Maschine integration fully nailed.

tis almost there, im down to the track drifting 1/8 on the phase meter

Good

Very Good! Well thought out controller/software.

That’s nuts. I am going to try it out sometime soon, as I get more familiar with my tools. I wanna use it as a MIDI Fighter and plug it into my S4, which I hear a few people have done.

JesC I like your setup man, jus curious though by any chance do you know where I can pick up the UDG bag for Maschine in Cali?

Ohh, and back on topic, I love my S4.

Couldfuzion try the NI site. I havent seen them anywhere local.

So after you said it, I googled it once more, and couldn’t find it anywhere. Then I googled “Maschine UDG Bag - California” and the first things that popped up were my forum posts about it lol!

And then after that this is what I found:

So they have a bag for Traktor, but not one damn one for the Maschine. I mean it could be a mistake and I could fit the Maschine in there, but the one off NI’s website looks way cleaner.

I also have a feeling if I find it at some other retailer, it’ll be atleast $10 cheaper then off NI.

Anyway lemme know what you guys think as well, and sorry for hi-jacking your thread kind sir.

i dont think they mind.

yeah but this is what i mean… u have a down side that u cant chnage the faders and etc… vci’s are easy to repair and repplace… but where would u get parts for s4 anyways? native is asking to send it in if anything happens… what if u really fully rely on it? i personally love the vci and if something happens within minutes i can get the fix…

its really hard to compare a vci-100 thats been out for many years to a s4 that has no more than 2 months on the streets and expected it to work 100% and replacement parts be avail at radio shack.

Worth every penny. Although my VCI holds a special part of me, what a classic piece of equipment.

i am still kind of hesitating to buy the s4… cuz of the faders and replacement issues… i am not sure it is so stable as the vci although native does do very quality stuff,
