2gb ddr2 ram

It’s a bit of an old spec but you should technically be ok.

It really depends on what else is installed and running on the machine.

I would recommend a fresh format and getting used to only using the machine for Traktor.

I’m positive that future updates particularly to the driver will make the S4 more friendly to the typical windows machine.

Also I would add 2gb of ram. Cheap, and should make things better.

I would also add a different cooler than the stock one that comes with the D chips. My server runs on a D CPU and was running at idle at about 65-70 degrees C (this seems normal for these chips). I installed a zalman cooler and it runs about 40 degrees C under load. Of course I am assuming you are using a desktop.

yup, been with me since 06 tho i had to change the mobo recently..noticed the only, does it apply to using the net and watchin movies etc..?coz its my only system atm

yup, desktop it is,ancient desktop tbh.haha.will look into the suggestion mate

that would definitely solve my problems but sadly,my mobo only supports 2gb max :disappointed:

2.66 should be fast enough but personally if i was you i’d hold off until NI releases an update to fix all the windows problems people have been having. if the update is really good then I’d go for it.

being a desktop pc helps a lot since those don’t have acpi management or cpu throttle.

New cheap heatsink and overclock it…are there any 2gb dimms of ram that would be compatible for your mobo that you could pick up?

Im guessing your runnning 1gb dimms or even 512mb…if you have 4 slots then 1gb dimms should be cheap.

just a 512.burnt my other half:stuck_out_tongue:.plannin on 2x1gb and coz my mobo supports dual channel,it brings it up to 4gb?or should i get 2x2g and ignore the dual channel..btw,my mobo takes up to 4gb,not 2gb as said in my prev post..and has 2 slots.this model gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L

anyone kind enuf to get me an MBP?? anyone?:roll_eyes:
