Serato Shift Key + Midi Fighter

Serato Shift Key + Midi Fighter

Hey guys, I just got the MF today .. I was using an x1 before, thought it would be cool to try out the MF but I was wondering how I can use the shift key in Serato? Can’t figure it out… 8 pads is not enough for one deck for me, I need more!

Thanks for the help..

Sera-what?

Serato, it’s kind of the industry standard DVS system.

http://www.serato.com check it out.

imo, there is no industry standard dvs. you are just spotting regional trends.

and i’ve used scratch live since 2005 and just switched to traktor.

Disagree - I beleive the industry standard DVS systems are Traktor Scratch and Serato.

hey, man. i’m not sure if i’ve ever heard of serato having a shift function. so i, at least, don’t know how to help you..

My mistake. There is a shift function.

Ok, so here’s what i found.

I think you need to upgrade the midi fighter software to enable 4 banks mode internal. Ive never tried it on Serato but it should work! Will try tonight…correct me if Im wrong!

The shift function seems to be a controller supported feature not the Scratch Live software. I’m going to try some shift mappings with my apc40, we’ll see how that works.

I did upgrade it, still not working! Let me know if you guys have a solution… Thanks!

(I was joking)

So you want to use the shift functionality in Serato without having to touch your keyboard / You need a Bomes or other script translator to convert MIDI TO Keycode.I think there is a midi to keys software also called MID2Keys. Never tried this with the midi fighter in Serato but hey to each their own. good luck!

edit the xml manually.
you can add modifiers.
stop BS flamewars about what DVS to use. to each his own.

can you pm me or put it here and give me an example of what you trying to use the shift function for?
