Seriously thinking about going for external set up
I’m starting to get annoyed with the internal eqing in traktor, it just doesnt seem to suit me. Would having an external mixer and a VCI-100 seem a bit like over kill though for a set up.
Or could I do a mixture of internal and external of running a couple of channels through an external mixer and then have the VCI run another couple of channels internall?
My current setup is an external setup, BCR2000 & MIDIfighter.
These are hooked up through my MBP and Audio4DJ to an external mixer.
I love the feeling it’s giving me. For me it’s nicer than the EQ-feeling of a VCI-100 could give me.
The S4 was great, I will have to try it for a prolonged period though, to see if I still like an External mixer next to the S4.
i use external, but do u know that u can change the eq behaviors in traktor? there’s 3 settings i think, normal, p600 (emulates the djm600s eq) and xone (emulates allen & heath eq)
External. for notes, right now PSSL has a mackie d2.pro for
400 bucks, its the ONLY two channel traktor approved mixer. I called
them up and they are factory RECONDITIONED. Probably the last batch
ever.
I tried the various EQ’s out in traktor yesterday. Theres a massive difference!
I found the ecler nuo eq to have a massive mid range frequency band. So much so that I could kill the highs on my dubstep with minimal difference. Killing the lows also left in a lot of the upper bass frequencies.
I was considering getting a nuo3.0, but now im not sure. Is the nuo EQ in traktor representative of the hardware eq? If so, how do you guys manage with it?
Lots of filter use to get rid of the rest of the bass frequencies?
