Set Up Question

Hello Hello
So I’m New to Spinning, but I have a good group of Talented people teaching me. But I also don’t wanna be up their a$$e$ all the Time.

I was looking at the Numark Mixdeck as a nice beginner setup.

I’ll be running it all on my Macbook Pro (I have a older one but I’m looking at getting a new one for Spinning specific)

So, Macbook Pro + Mixdeck + Traktor…good Starter Setup?

Appreciate reminding me that I am still half retarded and not searching (I really do know better lol)

But I need to ask I’m sure a Stupid question…but can the Mixdeck be used with a Midifighter (Pro)? Since I’d like to run one down the line.

It could be cause I’m still “wet-behind-the-ears” but I can’t find anything definitive that makes sense to me.

Hey

I started DJing on a Mixdeck with Traktor and still do.
It’s a good machine to get started on, and it will also continue to serve you well as you progress.
I started using the mixdeck w/o software, to learn beatmatching. I still use it today, but with Traktor and a LPD8.

If you plan to use just Traktor though, I think you should look at something else than the Mixdeck. Because what you pay for is not only the MIDI function, but also the CD players, the USB ports and the iPod dock. Maybe you should look at a controller w/o these features if you don’t plan to use them.

D.S.M.I.T. - Thanks man. And all my other Professions and Hobbies I’ve had no problem either going Big out of the gate with gear, or getting the right stuff to start. That’s why I figured the Mixdeck. I’d rather have those features now and use them later. Then Not have them and want to use them down the line.
