Should I get a Kontrol S2 Mk2?

I’m thinking about picking up a Kontrol S2 Mk2, but before I do, I wanted to ask if there are better options…

  1. I want to use Traktor Pro “2.whatever we’re on right now” 6.3? with Remix Decks
  2. I don’t need 4 channels, 2+2 is enough.
  3. I want something that is not going to need a lot of mapping, if not an NI unit, and will have full functionality with Traktor–in other words, not be a pain/unintuitive to use with Traktor.
  4. I’m a novice Traktor user, looking to master the software–not a whiz.
  5. Would prefer to keep it at or below the S2 Mk2 price point.

You’d probably want an F1 for more direct control of the Remix decks as you have no volume control over C+D with the S2.
