Sidechain compression maybe??

Hey guys. Just to preface this post I am pretty new to ableton!
In the mashup I posted here the second drop has the vocal continue through the drop instead of cutting out like the first drop. I put on a lot of sidechain compression synced to a ghost kick to try and get that “sound moving in and out” type of feel. But it just sounds terrible in this version. Is there something i’m missing? A plug in or third party vst? Hopefully i’ve made clear the kind of sound i’m trying to go for. It’s kind of tough to explain haha.

you want the pumping sound “effect?” At least that’s what it sounds like you’re looking for…

Try some of these suggestions: (except it sounds like you want the pumping on the vocal, not the bass)
