PROBLEM: Gain knobs - Why would they make them endless knobs with a clicking sound? Is there a way to make them behave as regular Gain Knobs?

I think they did this since all songs have different levels. One song could be really quiet, so you need to to turn it up further, the next song might be really loud so you don’t have to turn it as far. Honestly, this doesn’t bother me at all…if I need more gain, I turn the knob right, if I need less, I turn it left.

PROBLEM: SYN/Faders - Cant move the pitch fader of the other deck while in Sync. I noticed that you can only pitch UP/DOWN a master track. is there a way to change that?

Not that I know of, but you can switch which song is the “master” by clicking shift+sync on the deck.

PROBLEM: Two arrow buttons(above pitch fader) useless - I read about them and still cant find how can I use them in real life, any ideas? If not, how can I map it so they will act as pitch bend buttons rather than whatever function they have now

If you press both of them at the same time it’ll lock the song into it’s predetermined bpm. I also think they have different uses depending on if your pitch fader is relative or absolute.

PROBLEM: My main one: BROWSER KNOB: How can I make it so it scrolls through playlists? Right now when I hold shift it jumps thru different sections (collections, playlists etc) how can I make it so it jumps by each playlist.

I’m not sure I understand this question…if you use the shift button, you’ll scroll through the file hierarchy on the left…without the shift, you should be able to scroll through whichever playlist/folder/etc you happen to be in.

Do you have any other tips?

use the MOVE knob (the one to the left of LOOP) to change folders when browsing (i think the solves for you? i dunno, im lazy and dont use playlists, just one, MASSIVE, file directory)

and yeah im still wondering why they have tempo nudge buttons that are totally useless. :-\ im still figuring out how to really use sync as well, most of the time i get frustrated, kick it off, and do it by hand. im old and grumpy like that.

I bought S4 to try it out and I think ill keep it. . There are few things that bother me and im pretty sure they are fixable also I wanted to throw my 2 cents about it. Here it goes:

Also I haven’t figured it out yet but I noticed that SYNC is acting differently than in Traktor Pro 1. Im not sure whats wrong with it because it gave me just a headache and I stopped using SYNC. How can I make it so it behaves as in Traktor Pro?

Regarding Sync…there is 2 options of Sync within Traktor…Tempo Sync, and Beat Sync. To my Understanding Tempo Sync is the new one in Traktor Pro 2, Beat Sync is similar to Traktor Pro 1

I have changed the arrow buttons using the mapping in Traktorbible, for Beat gridding and Beat grid adjustments. This i find is a lot more useful than what it is now.

If you push the browser button (the one that looks like a magnifying glass) the Loop jump encoder(one on the left will scroll through your folders/playlists) The Loop size will scroll through your Favorite playlists)
