Stanton T.92’s? Worth it or nah?

So im debating on gettting a turntable setup. Looking at the Stanton T.92’s and a Pioneer DJM-T1 mixer. Is it worth the money? (I am a baller on a budget) Are they comparable to the old school 1200’s? Sturdy? High quality build? Thanks in advance for any suggestions and whatnot.:slight_smile::slight_smile:

Yes.

Just buy them.

I literally just bought a pair of these a few weeks ago, and I love them. I had an old pair of Citronic’s before that I bought second hand off of someone, they had been used a fair bit but were functional. Compared to the T.92’s though… massive difference. Good torque, 3 different pitch ranges, a reverse button, pretty much all you could ask for. Wow and flutter is very minimal (As shown in Traktor, very slight fluctuations but not enough to even notice). The minimal wow and flutter has made me realise just how much wow/flutter my old decks had!! So much easier to keep 2 tracks in sync.

Any other questions, ask away!

Get used Super-OEMs instead.

The MAIN reason i am buying brand new is because i would like a matching set. (I know im OCD) .LOL. You know a pair that has gone thru the same amount of wear and tear. And everything i see on Ebay is always singles you know. Or if they are a matching set of Technics or somethings they want some ridiculous price for them or their like gold plated or something and i dont need that. But if i did find a matching pair of older model ones id go with them. 3heads would you suggest any particular model?

Well, there’s a whole bunch of models by different brands based on the same design. The differences are relatively minor, so it comes down to availability in your area I’d say. The Stanton 150s are a bit more expensive off the shelf, so the used prices are most likely higher as well. The Reloop RP-6000 might be the most ubiquitious of the bunch. Here in Germany they sell used for about 150€ (or a tad bit more), can’t go better on a budget, I’d dare say.

Here’s a random list I pulled off google, but I’m sure it’s not exhaustive.

So my next question would be is there any advantage to getting CDJ’s over turntables. I mean they almost do the same thing. My roommate is trying to convince me to get CDJ’s instead. He says i wont want to haul them around to gigs. But Im dragging my friends Denon DNS 3700’s and Traktor Z2 in a full flight case around every other weekend and it cant suck much more than that. Whats funny is he just bought a pair of Stanton Str8-80’s. Not to play at shows but now his S4 went to shit. But I have a friend who takes his Technics everywhere. I know its not easy on them to do so, but wouldnt a flight case help with that. What are some things i should look at before deciding. Give me some of your personal stories on this. Cuz honestly i dont want CDJ’s. I’d rather go with a piece of equipment thats not gonna be obsolete in 2 years or something that is literally made to break as most things are these days. No one is mixing on tables anymore at shows. Probably a reason for that, but it cant be THAT hard can it? Is it worth the extra it of effort. Id like to think so

I’ve had T92’s. They’re a quality TT. TT’s can be more finicky than CDJ’s.
