Switching Pad Banks in Traktor with MPD26?

Switching Pad Banks in Traktor with MPD26?

I’ve scoured the forums and couldn’t find an answer,

I have an Akai MPD26 that use with Traktor Pro 2.12 for all my gigs.

I’m really into the instant gratification mappings, so what i want to do is have pad bank A be my play/stop/cue controls that i currently have mapped, and pad bank B can be instant gratification mappings so i can switch over to bank b after a mix and apply effects during the song, etc, then switch back to bank A to mix in the next song…

problem is traktor plays all midi commands of both banks at once after i mapped them all, and i can’t figure out how to seperate them, i know it has to do something with midi channels but its quite tedious to switch channels by going thru the settings in my controller,

hope this makes sense as to the goal i’m trying to acheive here,

is this possible? anyone else tried/succeeded?

thanks in advance =]

I would really love to know if you (or anyone else) were able to figure this out. this is the only thing in my way of mapping..any help please!

sounds to me like the mpd26 is sending out different midi messages on both banks, dont it? (at least that’s my understanding of banks)

if so, just make sure to be in the right bank when you map your stuff via learn

hey, thanks for getting back to me it looks like that mightve been the issue. can the knobs & faders be assigned to other banks? or are they only global–for all banks?

i really appreaciate it!

i’m pretty sure only the pads can send out different data (note on/off) depending on what bank you’re in - the rest of the controls don’t switch.

this makes alot of sense now, thank you!

i had the same problem in all of the banks pads 3 and 4 and 13 and 14 overlap. i had to change the channels and save them.
