Technics SL1210MK2 Problem, PLEASE HELP!!

I have a problem with my technics sl1210mk2’s which hopefully you may have the solution to!
I have replaced the pitch sliders on both decks to new ones by desoldering the old ones and soldering the new ones, this was super easy and experienced no problems, I then used my multimeter and calibrated the faders successfully.
Then I adjusted the potentiometer slightly so that +6 was nice and still on both decks… now here is the problem…
I simply cannot beat match correctly as the slightest touch on the fader either speeds up too fast or too slow! you cant keep tracks synced for very long at all!
I have owned many pairs of technics in my time but have never come across this before and for this to be happening on both decks something cant be right.
I look forward to your replies and hopefully I can get this resolved!!
