Here is my new techno macromix, weighing in at exactly 2 hours and 100 tracks.
It starts out with minimal techno, then moves on to straight up banging techno for the bulk of the mix, then climaxes with some hard techno, and cools down at the end with some dub and deep techno. There’s also a little acid techno and tech house thrown in for flavor. The vast majority of the tracks were released within the past 6 months.

For what it’s worth, my DJ name refers both to my mixing style (mixing only small portions of tracks, often edited down before mixing) and to the fact that I like to do short video mixes with techno and visuals (http://www.youtube.com/djmicromix). I’m a pure DJ hobbyist, not a professional. I started spinning about 10 years ago, then gave up vinyl for digital last year.

I would love to listen to a good techno mix from you, but to be honest, to me the thought of 50 tracks per hour is very unappealing.
It leaves just over a minute per track, which means that you probably only get to hear the banging middle section of the tracks. And that is really tiring in the long run.
Didnt mean to be a dick, just my best advice.
I know where you’re coming from with this Flaekiface, but to be honest you’re a bit too quick to judge based on your perception of how this would work without listening - to say that this mix is probably just a collection of the banging bit in the middle of each track is far from the truth and is a lil lacking respect for the OP (i’m sure that wasn’t your intention ).
My opinion? - this is a very intelligent, well thought out mix. There is good attention to dynamic throughout, and the track selection is very good (spotted quite a few i have in there ) .. it isn’t flawless, there is the odd occasion when a track cuts a little too sharply for my liking, but overall the transitions are very smooth. One of the things i liked best about this mix is that although there are 100 tracks slotted in there, it didn’t feel like you were trying to take the piss… which would have been very easy to fall into - it shows that you have a good feel for expanding from the micro to the macro but without changing your core style.
This is a pretty impressive mix and deserves a listen. I very much like the fact that you have taken the time to add timings to the tracklist and also posted a lower quality version for those with lesser bandwidth. I was annoyed by having to wait at zshare for my download - this would be my main criticism to be honest, which makes it pretty damn good IMO!
You are absolutely right that is was not my intention to show dis-respect!
The thing is that when I listen to a track, the intro and outro is just as important as the theme section in the middle (this is how most tracks are composed). Just listening to a minute af a track dosent really tell me if its any good or not → I cant really make an oppinion on the tracks in the mix.
But I guess that if you go for the transitions and techniques applied, a mix like this makes great sence. Thats just not the main thing for me.

Thanks for all of your comments. Earl-panda, I hope you like it. Flaekiface, I actually agree with you that on alot of mixes like mine you just get all banging all the time. I tried to avoid that trap by starting minimal, ending deep, and not always focusing on the most obvious part of the tracks. And I know that some people just prefer to have the whole track, which I do sometimes too. Sc1C I really appreciate your comments. I was definitely focusing on the big picture with this mix, so I’m glad you liked it. Listening to it over again there are definitely some transitions that aren’t my favorites, but most of them I think really work. And mtvstinks, yeah, I wish I had been the first one to think of beatport and make all that money! Actually, you can buy the tracks from wherever you want, I don’t care, I just use beatport. My only point is that producers should get paid for their tracks, they deserve the money.
I apologize if this was taken personal toward your effort. This is an amazing mix and I did not mean to taint your product with my garbage mouth post. The effort, time and money to create a mix like this is deserves more. Again sorry
You do bring up a good point though and is something that we should be weary off, im not totally opposed to people making those sorts of remarks as long as the attention isnt to flame the original post which wasnt the case in this situation. I personally think its healthy for forum users to beware of viral advertising. You should make a post about this on the general forum so we quit hijacking this thread, just dont use this thead as an example
no offense taken at all, mtvstinks, and thanks so much for your comments about my mix. I 100% agree with BentoSan that people should be wary of viral marketing and internet scams everywhere. I had my bank account emptied and credit card maxed by somebody who hacked into my paypal account. I did eventually get the money back, but beware of shit like that.
