I saw the thread someone posted about how Shiftee compiles and mixes a mixtape and it mentioned some mac software that converts text to audio and outputs it to say aiff/mp3/wav, Lips, i think it was called?
Is there anything similar available for Windows out there? Cheers
Few quick links i dug up, might help, the top one looks cool.
Also, have you tried the Narrator if you’re on Windows 7?
The ideal choice if i was in your position would be Vocaloid from what i hear, but it isn’t cheap.
On a side note check this out:
She is like the voice for vocaloid or something like that (I haven’t used it) and they use a 3d model of her on a glass screen on the stage. A lot of you have probably seen it, but the applications of this could be endless.
depends to how much text to speech you want to do, but if I remember correctly (don’t own it anymore) fruity loops had a pretty decent vocoder that’s been in every version. It allows text-to-speech in a “production friendly” environment, with a choice of different voices and intonations.
The best text to speech program i’ve ever used (I used to use it on my PC before I fried it [long story, well not really but anyway] is called Dragon Naturally Speaking. The new one is pretty amazing. I used it the entirety of this semester and I wrote countless essays on it, and it made my life super easy.
