the Denon DNS 3700 awesome’ness needs ‘older’ timecodes and older traktor…need help

Hello,
I love this Forum outta them all cuz Traktor users seem a lot smarter than most DVS systems and I have Had them all…Might be Ean’s Fault,Might be Zach’s,either way-the ONLY way to run traktor in Hybrid MIDI,meaning,no Time code is that I need an 'Old MK1 cd,and an older version of Traktor…I can order the CD if I gotta…But wouldnt it be great if someone here had one and sent me a dropBox or file as a wav. of the tone,?Then I can downGrade to an older Traktor for I truly dont need any of the super newer stuff.please let me know cuz the Denon 3700 put me in broke mode for a few months, and the 3900,which doesnt need ‘absolutely anything’,I couldnt afford…mind you, kutting with control CD’s is amazing, the no needle opens a whole new world of techniques, but trust me,i spent 22 yrs with needles, and at $100 a piece,I figured after trying the absolute zero latency and built in effects and well, everything, that owing a QFO,a PDX 3000 a PDX 2000 MK2 Pro,I have analog covered, and love that I can finally enjoy some future kutting without feeling like a cheater…wanna hear me all analog?-here it is

anyway,if you have an older cd and its in good condition,I would love if you could burn the tone and send to me at calkutta@gmail.com or maybe through here…again,I consider this the 'thinking mans forum and the tracks prove it…thanks DJTechTools///-you are the Nation Geographic for all things sound…not just kutting or triggering or anything…you kats cover it all.and I wish you even had a cool mag so I can be on the cover,lol…j/k.
mad respect,lemme know

kids, don’t do drugs.

to the OP: please make sense of your post then i’ll put my Traktor 1.2.7 on dropbox so you can download it (of course, you would still need to buy the TSP licence key from somebody to enable it).
Also, bear in mind that now TSP 2 from version 2.7 supports mk1 timecode so your S3700 will work in Hybrid Midi mode with it.

ok,
thanks for the speedy response,I have a legit traktor skratch license,so you are saying all i need is older cd’s.like the one i can order from the site? and put those time codes in mapping, and all will work?- i so hope this is so,even though working with the mk2 cd’s will be no big deal, but not having to worry about them ever is pretty cool…if you can,i doubt, but if you could, send or make me a video on how this is done…i have the youtube ones for the older traktor and tried it,but like it said, the kuts were very metallic and i use a lot of strings and harmonica in the DVS records I make…sorry if my email didnt make that much sense,i have M.S and use voice activated interface…yes,it sucks 89% of the time.anyway, hope u heard my tracks and enjoyed them,im still over half analog and will always be…i just wanted a digital qfo and with the fader box im building…thats pretty much what i got…thanks again man…so 2.7 supports mk1?..i just need a good walk thru,so i can make sure i do it right…thanks again yo’

Yes 2.7.0 now supports MK1 timecode.

Please don’t ask for shared software on the forum. NI timecode is copyrighted so should not be shared on the DJTT forum.

sorry,i wasnt trying to get in trouble or anything for free,I will order the older timecodes from N.I,I just didnt know man…thanks for your Candor.

First of all - what do you need? Timecode CD’s (mk1 or mk2)? Or the software (the old 1.2.7 version)?

You don’t need any CDs - when you find the time to read your manual you’ll probably be delighted to discover that the timecode signal is built into the 3700s hybrid mode (and even tells you how to activate the Traktor timecode signal in the manual too).
Yes it’s an old MK1 signal but that’s not an issue either as the latest update to Traktor gives you MK1 support again.

Read the manual m8, grab the latest update from NI and the TSI file for the 3700s from the Denon forums and you’ll be up n running in no time.

bought used,so far, even with the timecodes its mad fresh…but,i wanna produce the code internally, one less thing…the manual online was very vague, and the forums said it couldnt be done…now you kats are helping me more than you’ll ever know…so,lemme get this straight,I gotta downgrade to an earlier traktor?..no problems for I hate Flux’ mode…i skratch…period…yet now i dont gotta get the old traktor…please walk me through this as if i am 5 yrs old, lol…i just wanted a digital QFO and its that plus way more…plus the price was perfect…again, any help,P.M me for I dont wanna get in any trouble, yet I am a full blown traktor owner, software, modular controllers, the works…im not trying to get anything for nothing,‘cept maybe a time code signal just in case i forgot a CD…have you kats worked with this?..cuz i have been hearing the midi hybrid signal sounds very metallic…is that true?regardless, thanks in advance…im now building my fader box to fit the 3700 outta a NUO 2.0 with an Eternal…about the size of a pack of smokes…imma Ecler man…again yo’…thanks and gentlemen know jus’ how to kut’'.

Ha;,sorry,it didnt understand…ok,…what Hz should I set Hybrid Midi to?-theres the serato setting, then 3 more- 2 ok Hz 3 OK Hz or 1.2KHz ,…any one know,im running the latest traktor…but I realized why my Timecode was being off and on,its the old one…
please help…and again, thank you so much for all the insight and Candor…calkutta

also, after installing,it wont go to the part to select the 1-2-3 OKHz…if anyone has done this with a 3700 and traktor scratch…I would love a Skype session or a walk thru…I have the manual.did everything over 7 times now…dont wanna break this thing…thanks either way gentlemen.

The mk1 timecode used to be downloadable in service centre…dont think it is anymore though

Hej chris, you are correct but this is not the topic here.

For the OP: use 2.0kHz signal. For a detailed walkthrough on setting up TSP2, please visit denondj forums.

ok,all is working with the time code cd…just took a minute, thanks for being patient…I cant find ANYTHING ANYWHERE’ on how to get Hybrid Midi working for Traktor, and if it does, the platters dont ever spin…if 'ANYBODY HAS FIGURED THIS OUT,PLEASE HELP!!!"
Seriously.makes no sense,it just makes the 3700 a controller like an S2,or in my case,an S1 because I only have one 3700…the rest is all turntable///but because of the size,I would like to,if possible, get the tone out of the 3700…the denon forums had no clue, only for Serato or VDJ…anyway, thank you and lemme know fella’s/
J-Kutta - Rasp Haunt

I would like to know this myself as I have a pair of 3700’s that have been collecting dust for a few years. If you figure it out, come back and let me know.

You guys scare me lol
I’ll give it a shot tho

Take the CD out as you don’t need it for hybrid mode.
Set the hydrid mode to 2K as per the screen grab you posted from the Denon PDF.
Connect up the USB lead (keep the phono leads connected for the timecode signal)
Download the tsi files and instructions from the Denon forums and the Traktor bible site.
Set the 3700 to hybrid mode (press midi button and turn the parameter knob to hybrid mode (as per the PDF)).
Open Traktor, go to the controller manager, import the tsi file and set the input and output ports.
As you’ve got the timecode CD working you don’t need to change any routing or timecode settings (yay  )
You may need to restart the 3700 (I’m working from memory here as my DJ PC isn’t well atm) and set it to hybrid mode again.
Press play on the deck (the platter mode button will switch between platter modes btw)
Exit the Traktor preferences.
Calibrate the timecode signal - don’t worry if it fails, you should see a nice round circle if it’s working.
If it’s working, exit Traktor to save the settings.
Restart Traktor and enjoy

If you want to try the different tsi files, as with changing the tsi files with any controller, make sure you delete the old one and set the ports again when you import the new 1 to avoid tsi clashes.
I had trouble with the Denon 4500 based tsi files sending all the extra display info, they may work for you but it’s probably best to get one of the basic display tsi files working 1st.

Yo’,I did almost everything…even got it to work…but for some reason, the timecode was waaayy more accurate, the Hybrid Skips, plays backwards randomly, etc…anyway…unless i can get a PC video step by step version, imma stay with my timecode cd’s…heres a curve ball,I lost the screws that connect the spindel to the fake record on the platter, can you PLEASE tell me which measurement and what to get at ACE Hardware?..i have MS and am a Paraplegic,so its hard to move and lug shit around to re-find those tiny screws,my wife accidently tossed a tray that had them…anyway, yes,it works, but the 3900 has it better,or maybe if I used a Denon Mixer,…So all that for wackyness…I still love it…in every possible way…

Glad we’re making some progress.
I’ve not got the equipment to measure the screws and it doesn’t actually say the dimensions in the service manual unfortunately.
Some1 on the Denon forums is bound to know the answer or have the equipment to measure the screws tho, so I’d ask there m8.
